At Clever Kids we believe children begin their learning journey from the moment they are born and the years from birth to eight are fundamental in establishing a child’s sense of identity, value, and confidence. We believe parents and families are their first educators and our role in the learning process is that of a facilitator, rather than a teacher.

Clever Kids provides both care and education within a long day care environment and caters for the youngest of learners in the Nursery through to the 4 Year Old Kindergarten group who develop their school readiness skills under the supportive wing of our Early Childhood Teacher. We are a ‘feeder’ to many of the local primary schools, and our educators attend regular local networking meetings to ensure continuity and care across all streams of education. Our educational programs are underpinned the National Quality Standard and by both the Victorian and National Early Years Learning frameworks and The Code of Ethics.

Informed & meaningful learning programs:

Our educational programs are designed to be emergent in nature and, through reflective practices, are led by the children’s interests and needs. Learning is achieved through enquiry and play-based activities set in stimulating and responsive environments.

Our educational programs are governed by two approved learning frameworks:

National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which is based on the fundamental belief that children’s lives are characterised as “Belonging, Being and Becoming”.

Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) which identifies five learning outcomes for children that we strive toward:

  1. Children have a strong sense of identity (IDENTITY)
  2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world (COMMUNITY)
  3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing (WELLBEING)
  4. Children are confident and involved learners (LEARNING)
  5. Children are effective communicators (COMMUNICATION)

To further extend the children’s learning, we also include many intentional teaching experiences throughout the year which may include but not limited to the following topics:

  • Music and Movement
  • Dental Hygiene
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Indigenous Celebrations
  • Numeracy & Literacy
  • Sports & Fitness
  • Road Safety
  • Cooking & Healthy Eating Habits
  • Multi-Cultural Celebrations

  • Nature and Outback
  • Community Service
